Yes, India is achieving

If the Congress party chooses the slogan "India achieving" for the coming elections, I'd surely support it. I feel, India is really achieving.

I am writing this in the wake of India slamming New Zealand in the ODI series winning 3-0. Winning a cricket series may not be a big thing, but it's big for India, especially in today's conditions. yes, today's conditions.

In the last few months India has witnessed so many spectacular moments, some of them making us really proud while some leaving us deadly sad. It was the saddest moment for India, may be since the Bombay bombings in 1993, when the terrorists took over Bombay again in Nov last year. I don't think there's any other city than Mumbai Indians love more. Whenever something happens in Mumbai, every Indian is hurt, whether he's a Marathi, a Punjabi, a Bihari, a Bengali, a Telugu,a Tamilian or a Malayali. Mumbai belongs to every Indian. If we had followed what US (or in real terms, Bush) did after Sept 11, it was more than enough for us to invade any country in the world. But India controlled its emotions. I feel we are following the right path. If we had invaded Pakistan or came in a confrontation with them, there's no doubt that 1000s of lives would have lost. India became a role model for the entire world.

Leave the setbacks behind and see where India is now.

It was just a month before, India signed the neuclear treaty with US for cooperating in the field of civilian nuclear technology. India could easily get the ban on the commence of civilian nuclear trade lifted thereafter. Soon, India was seen signing nuclear treaties with countries like Russia, France etc. Yes, India is achieving.

One month later India successfully launched its coveted moon mission, Chandrayaan. Cheers to ISRO and G.Madhavan Nair. Every nation was surprised and looked onto India through the eyes of jealosy. Yes, India was achieving.

February 2009, 3 Indians bagged Oscar awards, the most ambitious awards in the field of films in the world. And now the Chinese and the Spanish in my dept hums Hindi song. Yes, India is achieving.

And this is March. India has won its first ODI series in New Zealand soil. Once again Sachin has rewritten the record of most centuries & most runs in ODI. Yes, India is achieving.

In the last few months, India was in the headlines of all the newspapers around the globe, this time not just for the setbacks but for its achievements. Achievements in the international politics and cooperation, achievements in the Science & space technology, achievements in the film and arts field and now achievements in sports.

Yes, India is achieving.

Pro - Peace

I hate wars. & I hate those who love wars!!

Huh, feels like we heard this a lot!! nothing new, right? Yeah, there's nothing new in it. absolutely nothing!!

I know, crime, violence & war didn't start just at the dawn of the 2oth century. I think they were there ever since the birth of humankind or maybe from the beginning of life on this amazing earth.
So what's the difference between the fights that were fought in the historic times, those wars in the 20th century and those that are fought right now in the 21st century?

I think, the main difference is that at first it was for the existence & mere survival. Then it became that of adventure, ambition & at the most, desire. But what's it for now? I can't understand. Is it proud? greed? money? commercial profits?

No, there's no straight cut answer for this. & the topic is too complicated.
